Obviously I don't want anything that's been flooded or a piece of crap. I need something reliable so I can haul my 3 year old around.

Use carfax for sure. A lot of flooded out cars hit the market on the coast since the storm. Trust me I know.... almost bought one myself

well I am not in new orleans area but I have a car for sale it is a 1990 Ford Taurus SHO has sunroof 5 spd but it is a nice car we was wanting 1,500.00 but the ac needs a little work but it is a good running car

cartrader.com or trucktrader.com be sure to run a carfax using the vin before buying anything if you want something reliable.
