GI bill isn't all it's cracked up to be for anyone that's actually used it. but make the most of it.
Texas does offer a tuition program. It's called the Sullivan Act. You get free tuition (not fees which can add up, or books, etc just actual tuition) at state schools. If you ENLIST FROM TEXAS & serve on active duty six months beyond training than your are eligble for life. Covers any 2 or 4-year degree you want & additional degress if you should so choose. Don't know if it covers grad/law/med school, but I might look into that now that I think of it.
Also, the Texas National Guard offers 100% tuition reimbersment. If you are accepted to an officer commissioning program for the guard (ROTC or 2 types of OCS), than you will be on non-deployable status & being paid while going to school for free. You just have to serve as a guard officer after commissioning, but can also apply for transfer to active duty, or a few other things like flight school.

Illinois does too. And you've probably got the Montgomery G.I. Bill as well, which pays $1000/month if you're a full time student. If you're in the military now, look into paying the kicker for the GI bill. It'll get you even more per month after you leave the military. Active duty military also gets 100% tuition assistance, so stay in and get your degree.

college of Edinburgh (and all different Scottish universities) are loose to locals who've been schooled in Scotland or who's father and mom have paid adequate taxes. there's a less costly cost for eu electorate, yet as a US citizen you would be charged international expenditures for many eu universities (which will desire to nevertheless be extra much less costly than interior the U. S.) yet will nevertheless run into $hundreds in keeping with 365 days.

the Ohio Army National Guard offers:
100% college tuition
about $900/month GI Bill for vets
+10 zillion other education benefits
if you cant get college paid for in the Guard youre doing something terribly wrong.

I think Wisconsin offers free, or at least discounted, tuition to Wisconsin residents only who return and attend any of the UW system schools.
