You have to qualify that. They ' believe in ' God the way a crook
' believes in ' the law. They both know it exists and want as little contact with either as possible.

Because they don't want to be there. Belief of demons and angels, etc...is different than the beliefs of a person. A person has free will, they choose wether to believe in God or not. God created them with that decision open. Demons and angels know there is a God because God created them to know that He was real. Therefore, the demons knew there was a God when they fell from heaven. I might be wrong, but aren't the demons fallen angels? Heaven isn't a place that demons can 'go' like people. People again have that choice. Choose God=Heaven, anything else=Hell.
Hope that helps.

Demons believe that God exsists, but they do not believe IN him. God gave all creatures free will so that they may choose to seek and follow Truth, obviously demons (as well as some people) choose not to believe. They are pawns of Satan and therefore will not see God for who He really is. As it explains in the bible, anyone who believes in Christ will go to heaven, everyone else will not.

Of course, demons believe in God, but don't worship or adore Him. God believes in demons, but is more powerful than Satan or any other demon. Satan will not surrender his quest for spreading evil in the world. He is against all that is good and loving. God is for all that is good and loving.
If you want to know why Satan will not go to heaven,
read John 3:16.

The phrase "believe in" just means that they believe that God exists. That doesn't make them good. They are still evil even if they believe that God exists. There is another meaning for the phrase "believe in" which can mean "to have faith in", however, I do not think that this use of the phrase applies to demons.

Well, the Devil was an angel and was in heaven with God at one time, but decided he wanted to take over heaven from God and that's how that story starts.

Because unlike man, demons are spirit creatures originally created perfect and with direct exposure to the authority of GOD. Like Adam, they choose to turn from GOD and direct their own way. For them there is no hope of redemption, only the eternal pit promised to Satan and his demonic followers. The same fate as awaits the unrepentant man who does not choose to submit to the authority of GOD through the saving grace of Christ Jesus.

Because it takes more than a belief in God to go to heaven. You must have faith in him and love him. The demons do neither.

James 2:19 says Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the demons also believe, and tremble. Demons have no faith in God or repentance for their sins. Here is an interesting article about this very thing. http://www.independencebaptist.org/Tracts/what_demons_believe.htm
