first it gives way too much trouble and slow down my computer start up
I canpt uninstall normally because it wants the cd in order to do so and i lost it
anymore ideas?

Go to Add and remove Programs and remove it.

1. Left Click on your Start button
2. Click on Control Panel
3. Click on "Add or Remove Programs"
This may take a minute or two to populate the page
4. Scroll to Norton AntiVirus and click on it
5. Click remove and follow the prompts

For this, you should open the program and select the option to uninstall because there is more than one component. Uninstalling through the program itself is the only way to make sure you get it all. :D

Go to add/ remove, and follow what everyone has stated, then go to AVG Software, great virus software @ $40 for 2 years.

go to start menu ,then go to control panel,then go to add remove programmes and then click uninstall.

Can't live without it and windows...
Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.
Other things to try:
1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)

3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)
