Both are nice but females are more gentle but if they are not neautered they do get periods and males can be a little more rough and if theyr'e not neautered they wander a lot. I personally like females.

since this is in the pet section, I can only assume you mean pets. I only like dogs, so I would say either. I have both, a male and a female. They are both pups, and the male is definitely a momma's boy while the female is getting to be quite a daddy's girl. I always said I would only have girls, but when i saw the picture of my baby boy up for adoption, I jumped on it, and he adores me! He lays outside of the bathtub when I'm in the shower, and underneath my desk when I'm working... Baby girl on the other hand is quite spacy and that may take some time to bond with her cause we got her second and she's better bonded with her brother, but she's coming around. They both are adorable, so choose the dog, not the sex. You will have to train both sexes anyway... good luck they are the best companions!!!

My wife and I have been raising Golden Retrievers and Labs for the past 40 years. Females are for the most part the easier of the sexes to own. A male is constantly looking to breed and the female wants to breed only when she is in season. Its easier to keep her inside for that short period of time, than to put up with the antics of the male, when there is a female in the area who is in season. At present, we have three males, well trained and disciplined. They do not fail to do what we command, so they are nice to have around. By and large females have better temperament..

A human male should have a female dog and a human female should have a male dog. They just listen better to the opposite sex it seems!
Both are equally nice but if you are the same sex as your dog you tend to think too much alike and clash more. So men get girl dogs, women get boy dogs, works alot better.

It depends on the type of breed of the dog. Usually, a female dog is calmer and people say that females are smarter than males.

I talked to cat breeders and most of them told me that if I were to get a kitten, that my best bet was a male because they are generally more loving and less moody. I'm not sure if this is the case for dogs as well, but it very well could be.
