Interestingly, the human race IS evolving to deal with the modern high fat diet. A recent mutation has been identified among some Italians that practically eliminates the odds of heart disease. The actual mutation has been identified, it isn't simply a case of a recessive gene becoming dominant. A similar mutation several thousand years ago gave men (but not women) the ability to metabolize relatively large amounts of alcohol - apparently our ancestors liked to drink a lot.
If the current diets continue, we can speculate about some trends that might happen; people who metabolize fat and sugar poorly will become more dominant, mutations like the Italian one will proliferate, and people will come to desire heavier set individuals.

Neither - we already evolved that way millions of years ago.
Way, way back in the day, before agriculture and such, food wasn't plentiful the way it is now. Therefore, the humans who could store the most energy as fat were the ones who were best able to survive.
These days, in america especially, food is plentiful. However, we're still biologically built to eat as much as possible and store excess food as fat, in case of a famine. Essentially, evolution hasn't caught up with our technological advancement; science has long outpaced natural selection.

actually it supports evolution... humans evolved as hunter\ gather type society. So our bodies are set up to store fat as food (and we are "wired" to gorge on foods when we find it) as would benefit a primitive hunter/ gatherer culture. it also took a lot more physically effort to produce food so we burned more food on a day to day basis. now that we are an industrialized, sedentary society, we begin to become obese because our bodies weren't evolved for this kind of lifestyle.

I think it supports the theory of McDonalds. But since Ronald McDonald died for our sins, it supports creationism.

It supports evolution, as it should. It's, quoting Darwin, "The survival of the fattest".
Creationists are a waste byproduct of evolution, IE, they're the ones that couldn't fully develop their brains, so they (thanks God!) will fade away.

You aren't born with a fat gene (usually) it isn't evolution, it isn't God's will, it is culture.
