Why do so many Christians warn atheists of blasphemy when atheists know that blasphemy is a victimless crime? (Or sin, whatever you want to call it)

The cry of blasphemy is a great way to gag people and stop them from exposing phoney gods for what they really are.
Blasphemy is just a gag and where that doesn't wash the cry of respect is being used in it's place... but it's impossible to respect much of the nonsense religions espouse and they should not expect to receive respect..let them earn respect like everyone else has to.

A victimless crims? Hardly. It is not the object of blasphemy that is at issue, but he/she doing the blasphemy. To engage in blasphemy is to pile loads of Karmic debt upon one's head. The victim of blasphemy is in the expression, which reveals the heart of that person. The warning is simply an utterance mirroring the danger of the act.

Because, subjectively, christians think that blasphemy is a serious transgression. They honestly believe that; it never occurs to some of them that non-believers don't care one way or the other.
Imagine if you told someone to have protected sex, because they were in danger of getting HIV, and the person you're advising just laughs you off and claims that HIV is a myth. That's much the way that some christians feel when talking with atheists about sin and blasphemy.

blasphemy is a horribly misunderstood sin, and this by christians, to warn an athiest of this is silly.
Blasphemy is charging God with the activities of satan and vice versa. To accuse or warn anyone who is not a christian is silly.

Christ was accused of blasphemy and died for it, he never accused others of it. I guess if some so-called Christians are accursing others of blasphemy, they aren't real Christ like.

I was told more then once that I'm a heretic, by the people who couldn't accept me being an atheist. Also, some of them told me that I'm religious deep inside, but I'm just not aware of it. It looks like believers know me better then myself... or they just really believe so :)

It's a waste of time to warn someone that is a non-Christian that they may be offending God.

Because it is a crime and does have victims for people who don't know the truth yet and our seeking God, its harmful and brings satans doubt into peoples life, who are not grounded in their faith yet, satan creates doubt to win souls, but Jesus will return and send all of them souls to a firery pit.
