I tried a Chilean wine but can't remember the name. It was Taro... something.

Concha Y Toro makes a number of wines, some very inexpensive and others more expensive. Here are the all-time top rated wines from Chile, as per Wine Spectator magazine:

Winery: Concha y Toro Score: 95
Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Alto Don Melchor 2001 Highly Recommended
Price: $45
Gorgeous nose of black currant preserves and freshly roasted coffee, with a powerful yet very silky palate of cassis, plum, blackberry, loam, mineral and dark chocolate flavors that glide through a superlong finish. Don't be deceived by its seeming accessibility though--there's some iron-clad structure underneath for the long haul as well

Winery: Viña Almaviva Score: 95
Wine: Puente Alto 2001 Highly Recommended
Price: $85 This brick house of a wine shows plenty of Pauillac-like hints of iron, dried currant and cigar smoke, but also has layers of Chilean loam, blackberry, plum, spice and minerals. A powerful performance in a powerful vintage.

Winery: Viña Almaviva Score: 95
Wine: Puente Alto 2003 Highly Recommended
Price: $75
Very dense, with loads of raspberry ganache, black currant and fig fruit layered with loam, tobacco, mineral and cedar notes. Lots of grip on the finish, with impressive balance between the tannins, acidity and oak.

Winery: Casa Lapostolle Score: 95
Wine: Clos Apalta Colchagua 2001 Highly Recommended
Price: $55
Stunning purity, with concentrated plum, boysenberry and raspberry fruit that just glides across the palate, buttressed by superfine yet muscular tannins. Suave toast, coconut butter and spice notes along with alluring chocolate and black tea hints chime in on the long finish. A superb combination of fruit and elegance.

My all time favorite is a Nuevomundo Cabernet/Malbec blend. Awesome stuff for about $14 a bottle. I am a California wine snob, but even I have to admit that Chilean reds beat the local vintages hands down. Excellent quality grapes, and you don't feel like you're eating an oak tree with every glass.

I'm not a big Concha Tora fan myself, but if you can find it give Terra Andina a try. Their cabernet sauvignon (reserve) is very well done. They also have a very nice chardonnay, both reserve and standard tier. The line itself (at least at the store I work in) ranges from 6.99 to 12.99.

Great question, by far the very best Chilean wines come from Marqués de Cáceres, try their roja, it is phenomenal.
