depends what sort of job or career you want to pursue, and how important having tattoos is to you. Depends whether you want something discreet, hidden away, or tattoos that are obvious.

For some, being tattooed is a source of pride, a kind of way of life. Nothing wrong with it, if that your interest.

You make a choice whether or not you are get tattooed
You make a choice what the tattoo or tattoos have as a subject
You make a choice whether the tattoos are large or small
You make a choice whether the tattoos are hidden or obvious

Whatever you decide, then live with it.

Remember, tattoos are not just for Christmas, they are for life (or the scar where they were when you try to have them removed)

I think it would depend on the tattoo you have and the job you're applying for. I have a tattoo (old and barely visible now), and have been a retail manager for over a decade. Most tattoos are done in good taste and in my opinion, artwork. I've been happily married to my guy for 18 years and had no problem dating before that. If someone discriminates against you for the sole reason that you have a tattoo, then they are not worth working for or dating. Your resume should "sell" you to an employer - not the way you look. And if a girl/guy is "turned off" by your tattoo, then they really don't like you anyway and are not worth dating.

Well, that's a question with some big variables. Obviously a butterfly on your ankle, especially covered up with pants, wouldn't prevent you from getting anywhere; whereas a swastika on your forehead might inhibit your chances considerably more so.
My husband has several tattoos, many visible on his arms. When he went for a job interview he wore a long-sleeved shirt to cover them up. His art didn't hinder his chances with me because I happen to love tattoos. Which leads me to my next point. I recently got my first tattoo. I got a spider on my big toe. I wanted something that I could show off, but also cover up without too much effort. I intend to work in the funeral services industry as a funeral director, and tattoos would be a big no-no at a job interview. I would like a tattoo on my wrist, but I also don't want to have to wear long-sleeved shirts every day to work.

I really think it all depends on what kind of tattoos you have, how big they are, where they are, and what kind of job you are looking for. As fo relationships, if you meet someone who hates tattoos and you are covered in them, you're probably not a great match.

For the most part a tattoo will not affect your dating or work.
Most tattoos can be covered up and should be covered up in the work place.
As for dating it is all in a person's opinion of what they like. I know a person who does not like tattoos but doesnt mind his wife having a few.. He knows that it is her choice and he respects that.

I have a tatoo on my arm and it has never prevented me from doing anything. I wouldnt reccomend getting one that would be visible if you were wearing a short sleave shirt. That might create problems.

I find that guys with tattoo's don't have a lot of respect for themselves and their body. Thus, I don't date them.

If it's visible, some employers won't hire you. It looks low class to them. I know a girl with a tatoo on her leg who got fired because they didn't want her to be seen by customers.

Yes, I have one so far. It's a rose on my big toe on my left foot. It doesn't get in the way b/c I can hide it when I want, and flaunt it when I want.

I don't like them. Every time I see one, I think, well that person has put him/herself at risk to get hepatitis. If you must get one, have it where it doesn't stick out and make a statement.

No.. I have a lot of them and no one has ever said anything. I work in a corporate environment and it doesn't have an effect.
