the ones telling you to go are mostly right. visit, watch, listen, learn. There is only one branch of Buddhism that relies on faith and that is the branch commonly called Pure Land. It is Vietnamese based, and believes that faith in the Buddha matters. But even there there is no guilt tripping. Buddha did not die to pay for inescapable sins. He learnt the way and stayed behind to teach it. Just a bit different. The other forms do not demand faith in any form, the way is a philosophy and a practise. you can come and go as you please, it is to teach awareness. And they expect you to think for yourself, not to become a slave to the Buddha, the teachings or to the way. Big focus on meditation practice.
Where did that all come from?
I have never been treated rudely or in any way disrespected at any buddhist temple that I have visited. I wish that I could say the same for the churches that I have been in.
I hope you do visit them, and enjoy the time spent. If they are willing to start teaching you to meditate it is like weight lifting for the mind, and at the same time very calming. have fun

I would think so, but there is only one way to find out. Might I suggest that you would probably also be accepted at a Christian church and that they would provide more complete answers than the Buddhists? Best wishes on your search.

Yes, I am sure you would be welcomed there. Buddhists are very welcoming. Also, did you know that you can be a Buddhist and still be a Christian. How welcoming is that?

Most Buddhist temples are very open to recieving visitors and they may even have people there willing to teach if you ask. Go check it out, you might like what you find.

I am a Buddhist and you will be welcomed. Essentially it is a religion of kindness, any lack of welsome would be HIGHLY unusual for a temple. And ask questions-we love dialogue.
Good luck.
Oh btw, lucky you, i have no temple near me.

Buddhists are very nice, welcoming people. I'm sure they'd love if you came over and told them you'd like to know more about them.

Buddhists don't go out and convert like Christians do, but they will gladly welcome you if you show interest. I have yet to find a buddhist who turned me away when asked an honest question about the faith.

Sorry can't speak for Budda, but Jesus does, I know because he welcomed me in 9years ago and I have never been the same since. Good Luck in your Search for the True and Living God!

Yep, go check it out. Buddhists aren't allowed to force their religion on you so if you want to go check it out you won't have to worry about being converted if you don't want to. Monks are usually very nice too. If you're interested, go for it!
