Doing crunches/ab exercises will help strengthen and tighten your ab muscles, but to lose fat, you have to lower your body fat percentage by doing regular cardio. And regularly cardio will help you have better health in general and decrease the stress you feel. Also, examine your diet by writing down what you eat on an average day. Look for ways you can make it healthier. And get regular sleep. This should all help the way you look and feel.

Its a mixture of determination, perseverance, diet and exercise.
1 - The results can be achieved though never instantly.
2 - It sounds as if your muscle tone on your belly is non existent.
3 - You need to seek specific targeted exercise that you must perform in their strictest form religiously.
4 - Work on your inner core structure with targeted exercise for this as your posture has a huge influence on the stance of your belly.
5 - Remember, anyone can have a six pack though if they have a few layers of fat over them they will not be visible.
Good luck and if you want to improve you can.

hey louise. sit ups are good and will get u a good six pack,
but then theres the unwanted fat storage covering it.
try and get a good 45 min - 1hour brisk walk 3 times a week.
also try and eat smaller meals more often. (the body is very efficient and will store fat 4 energy and fuel.it loves it. (our ancestor traits so we survive))
if you eat 1 meal a day the body will think "when am i going to get another meal , i have to store this fat", on the other hand if you eat say six small meals a day the body will think "i dont have to store this, i know im getting another meal soon" Its called raising your metabolism.
also louise, use your imagination. everything happens in the mind first. imagine being that beautiful slim woman. dont dream it, visualise it. you will be surprised!!!

you must be determined . Think practical, all you want to see is hiding under the layers of fat, so reduce your fat intake, everything helps, if you have 1 spoon of sugar in tea, reduce it to half, change your milk to skimmed instead of semi-skimmed, increase you water consumption, the more you drink, the quicker you will lose, it is also a good appetite suppressant. Diet is the most important, little and often, increase veg table intake, and of course minimise sauces, and processed food. Not easy but if you want it bad enough, are strict enough, you will be pleasantly surprised. Good luck!

No way will excercise alone get rid of flab. You need to change the way you eat along with diet. Seek a pro...not some "personal trainer" at a local gym.

The underlying muscle beneath the stomach area should be strengthened with crunches and sit ups but flab is basically fat tissue, so you should probably do some fat burning exercise. Walk, ride a bike, build some muscle and it will burn it off.

The sit-ups will help, but also cardiovascular exercise to get rid of the excess fat. The Sit-ups will tone the muscle but won't lose much fat. (I read that it will take about 12 hours of solid sit-ups to lose an inch off your belly- can't remember where I read it so don't quote me on it!!).

Trying going swimming, once a week and see how it goes: swimming is a good exercise because it helps strength your bones and tummy muscles.
