Its seems to me that all the guys i rent rooms out to just destroy my house, and a buddy of mine says that when he rents his house to all women he has never had a problem. The only thing is do i REALLY want to deal with the drama having all female RM's will have or take the chance of living with slobs guys again? Although having 2-3 women in the house would be nice also :P. Any thoughts?

living with women is a whole different animal then living with men.

CONS
- women can be slobs. i had a roommate in the dorms in college who continually left so many clothes on the floor, you couldn't see our carpet.
- women can be more stringent about the condition of the house like the house being spotless, the bathroom having soap, always having food in the house, etc. if this is the case, you will not be exonerated from cleaning and shopping, they expect your help.
- some women can be petty, and if things aren't just so they tend to fight and get angry. a woman can freeze someone out if they are mad at them.
- some women cannot stand the way men act when they are around each other or their home. the scratching, picking, video games, etc get on a lot of women's nerves.
- if you're college age, a lot of women's parents won't let them live with a guy.

PROS
-women usually like to keep a clean place and are generally speaking, less destructive than the other gender.
- they're women ... and you're a guy ... you're bound to see one of them naked at some point.
- you'll always have an entourage if you go out to the bar ... youll look like the luckest guy in town.

I've got news for you. Many women are slobs!

If you are going to have women as your room mates - don't sleep with them. You've got to keep it proffessional. Maybe some of them might think that if they sleep with you they won't have to pay? You can't just go around having casual sex with them. They live there. How do you think they will react if you bring home a girl friend? If you have a stable rent payer and you have no interest in being with her in a relationship long term - why would you want to ruin this relationship over some meaningless sex? Who's going to help you with your rent now?

Have women as room mates if you want. But look for someone that will pay their rent and be a responsible room mate - not romp in the hay. Male or Female - interview more. Be sure to find out if they will clean or not.

I think two women is fine. I lived with a female and male friend and it was the best arrangment ever (and I've had 7 other RMs). Just be careful who you pick.

Our house was always clean, the guy being around helped cool the tension that usually comes from two females living together, we could give each other advice about the opposite sex, and lots of other things that I can't think of right now were great about it.

Live with women. They won't be too crazy because you being there will break up the drama, the estrogen and the BS. When all women live together, yes, it's dramatic, but when a guy is thrown into the mix, it's not too bad.

Plus, women are cleaner, smell better and will have respect for your property and your apartment! :)

Good luck!

My suggestion would be to get all non-smokers, non-drinkers, really academicaly minded people and even open it up to people with disabilities. These generally tend to be the people who are taking life more seriously and will respect you as a person an respect your place. I found that in my college dorm days - these were the most awesome people to live with and amazingly the people with the disabilities were very quiet, studious, fun and totally low maintenance to live with. They also tend to take care of the place better than others would. They also tend to do their part in cleaning up and stuff. When shooting for these kinds of qualities, it doesn't really matter if they are male or female.

If you've already had guy RM's, try to have some gal RM's. Or just mix it up with BOTH! Why isn't that an option? Well, just pick what you want, it's your house. GOOD LUCK! LuvCarly

Well, I, as a girl can be a really neat roommate, but when studying gets hard or my schedule gets really hectic, cleaning gets left by the wayside.

My brother, on the other hand, is a neat freak 24/7 regardless of his circumstances, but he his perfectionism can leak out onto other people's comfort zones, too.

I think you just have to be really choosy regardless of gender.

I am 25 and lived with 3 girls last year. They were friends so and one had a longterm boyfriend out of town, so there was no sitcom drama. My only complaint was that I was the bug killer, the lightbulb changer, and the only one who seemed to EVER take out the trash.

So a girl and a guy as your two roommates is out of the question? That would be more ideal. Girls do have drama sometimes and guys can be messy.
Either way, you need to lay down the law. If they're messy, tell'em to clean up their crap. If they have drama, tell them to, well, "save it fo' their mama" and that you want nothing to do with it.

Well, most of the time women are cleaner and more private and if they're pretty adult about everything, you should be fine! I've lived with girls myself and then with boys and I prefer members of the opposite sex. Not sure why, but it seems to work better!
