Go see your physician to find out what vaccinations you need (you WILL need a Tetanus shot). It depends on where you are going. You WILL need a passport to get BACK IN to the USA, so go get one NOW. Take along a bottle of tylenol and a bottle of Immodium AD. You will need them. Also, make sure you pack your own razor, toothpaste, SOAP, shampoo, etc. In some countries you cannot get these items and in most hotels overseas they are not complimentary as they are in the USA.

ask your doc about vaccinations
you can get visa before you go but will be cheaper to get it there
passport a must
no medicine unless you have docs note that you HAVE to take them
keep all money safe and make sure everything is zipped up
