Sexual repressive societies tend to limit access to information regarding birth control and other means of avoiding teen pregnancy. They feel that by dealing with the situation in an authoritarian manner, the problem is resolved.

This is compounded by the lack of a social support network once pregnancy happens.

Information and intelligence is never harmful.

It's a lot easier to repress women and keep them under control when they're too busy popping out a baby each year, and caring for hubby, to do anyhting else.

In these societies, access to birth control information, contraceptives, and even the ability not to be raped by your husband, don't exist. Thus, high birth rates. In every culture that embraces educating women, you'll find the birth rate drops dramatically.
