There may be a special clinic to treat OCD, as there is one in our province of BC in Vancouver. New medications are coming out that may be helpful, so you need team work with a specialist in mental health at least. You may need to ask around to see that the doctor has some experience in dealing with ocd. In the meantime, find something that can take up more of your thoughts and interests, so you have less time to think about your fears. Some hobbies may be helpful, like Hookrug. Lots of references on searching for obsessive compulsive disorder, and treatment places, etc.

If you were diagnosed by a professional as having OCD, you will need professional help, unfortunately there is no simple solution or cure for people diagnosed with OCD. What i would suggest is to seek several professional help, such as medical doctors, and therapists to see which professional treatment helps with your condition the best.

You don't mention if you are on any meds. I have OCD and I find that when I am stressed out it gets worse.

Talk to your doctor about the possiblity of medication and therapy.

what i suggest is maybe goin out somewhere with your friends to get your mind off of things. Or even you can treat yourself to a nice spa treatment. But if you want to do something that isnt so cost affective, you could go to a local gym and work out. anything can help you take your mind off of cleaning.

Focus on one thing. Get rid of as much stuff in your life that is really unnecessary.

You will feel relieved when you dump all that excess stuff.

Think positive! If you worry too much it's not good.
