High protein, veggies and fruits that are low in carbs (those high in carbs are potatoes, peas, corn). You should have a couple of high carb days per week.
Also, have you been doing the same workout routine for a long time? If so, you might have hit a plateau. Try switching your weight training exercises, and maybe something different for cardio... even if it is a different swimming style or water aerobics.
Plenty of water, also. If you drink soda, try to cut that out of your diet. Also, avoid salt and salty foods so that you do not retain a bunch of water.

If you want to lose fat and have more defined body - excerise like you have been doing and eat correctly. Before you lift weights - eat long energy foods like pasta, scrambled eggs/protein shakes, and drink a lot of water to hydrate yourself. Gatorade is also excellent power drink after your work-outs. Stay away from fattening things likes cake, cookies, deep fried foods, fast food places (those places have enough grease to clog up all your arteries). Eat a lot of stir fries. Also stay from the pre-made meals in boxes like hamburger helper (too much sodium), and those budget gourmet meals - they loose their nutrients from the garden, to manufacturing and packing, grocery store and finally to your house. Eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. Stick to protein that has no fat on it and don't eat anything that is related to shell fish - those fats are hard for your body to break down. Hope this helps you.

On average (depending on metabolism):
In order to lose 1 pound of fat on your body you need to reduce your calorie intake or burn (by exercise) 3500 calories.
If you reduce your calorie intake by 500 calories each day
And increase your burning of calories by 500 calories each day
You would lose 1 pound of fat in 7 days.
You can either increase your energy output or decrease your calories and still lose a pound. You can increase your exercise and lose more weight, but don't cut your calories too strictly.
You need a minimum of 1200 calories a day for basic metabolic functions (Just to run your heart and brain, etc.) Other wise your body thinks you are starving and makes it HARDER to lose weight.
If you want a good diet plan to follow try Weight Watchers. I am on it right now. I have been doing it for 10 weeks and have lost 24.4 pounds.
Good luck.

Food will not help you burn fat. Strength training will accomplish both fat burning and muscle definition, but you must eat lean protein and lots of vegies and complex carbs with lots of water. Swimming is great exercise but strength training strengthens bones and muscles.

you swim four days a week! good for you!! You should gradually increase this amount as your capabilities grow, or if time constraints prevent you then just increase the intensity of your workouts. try running, cycling, or other activiteis so you don't get bored. follow the food pyramid and don't eat an excess of sweets.
You're on the right track. basically what you need to do is just do what your mother told you.

Keeping your sugar intake down is the best thing to do to lose weight, and it is much healthier as well. There are good carbs and bad carbs. Check out Women's Health online for some great information and help. I keep up with Men's Health and I find it very useful for helping me.

God but healthy women look sooo hot!
ok ok protein drinks no carbs. But remember protein depletes calcium in your bones so again balance.

Eat nothing but protein and you'll get lean. Hope you can handle being lightheaded while your hitting ketosis. After you hit ketosis you should be fine as your body adjust to using its stored energy as a resource as opposed to food you just took in.
