Will it affect my chances of getting into a university in Ontario.

I was told this too (I also went to high school in Ontario), but I know tons of people who took courses twice- like in summer school- and they still got into Ontario universities.

It is marked on your transcript whether or not the course is a 1st attempt. They look at different factors. If all your grades are crappy and it's a 2nd attempt with a better mark. Good for you! However, they might look differently at someone who has an 80 and just re-took it so that they could get their 97% to boost their average. I knew someone who took their OAC in English 3 times just to keep increasing their avg. I'm sure they're one of the reasons that they started counting how many attempts each course had had.
