I've gained about 10 lbs in 2 months and I don't think I am doing anything significantly different.

I've been on Lexapro since Feb. this year. Actually I've lost close to 40# since started. I find that I'm more upbeat than before, and more in control of what I eat; not controlled by my depression.

I took Lexapro for a few years and yes, it slowed down my metabolism significantly. I blew up like a balloon. Now that I've been off of it for about 8 months, I'm slowly losing the weight.

I suppose it's a toss-up - be depressed or be fat. However, you could ask your doctor (and preferably a psychiatrist, because they are the best informed about psych drugs) if there's something else you could try.

I take lexapro, 20mg a day and I have not gained any weight. It could just be you. Every medicine is different for every person.
