Other than getting extra sleep and taking vacations, what are some good ways to get rid of burnout? Does anyone have some ideas that really work?

You need to change your routine. In health care you see alot of burnout. Take some time decided what you want. Sometime a change in what your doing will help. Extra sleep does not help.. Do something you have been wanting to do but, can never find the time to do. It will help you will be happer.

Take a break from what you is causing you to have burnout. Get interested in something to get your mind off of it.

Ok honestly you should consider taking a Yoga class. It's inexpensive and can provide you with a means to "Calm down" during the middle of an otherwise hectic life.

Some Soldiers even practice Yoga to relieve the stress of war. And it doesn't get anymore stressful then that!

Begin to back off and detach, reassess your values, diminish worry and anxiety, keep your sense of humor, take care of your body, stop overnurturing, diminish intensity in your life, change your circumstances,and stop denying. Take a deep breath.

some times you just have to stop and smell the roses and from burn out change your job. take some time for your self get your self together go for a drive or to the beach clear your head and some time to unwine.

change your route to work or school, watch a different tv program,.....pick up a hobby, nascar, motocross etc.....go to movies out of town....develop an excercise/meditation routine.
