When we were trying to get our boy potty trained (he was almost 4), we typed up a note from Santa (you could make up a character or use Santa, Easter Bunny, what ever) that explained the importance of him using the toilet and how excited Santa was for Simon to become a Big Boy and how the diapers that were in his room were the last ones and after that there would be no more. I think Santa offered a special incentive too like a special prize if the goal was achieved by a certain time. We read it to him and he bought it hook, line and sinker. I got this idea from a friend and it worked wonderfully for both of us. Try it with both things but do the breast feeding first. It might be a bit tramatic to go through both of those changes for him at the same time. Good Luck!

At the age of 3 you should just refuse to give him the breast. If he trys to nurse, take him away from it. Tell him it's not for him anymore. Don't start giving him a bottle though- he's more than old enough to be drinking from a cup and eating whatever you're fixing for meals for yourself. Just put the food and drink in front of him, and DON'T let him have ANY boobie! Diapers are harder I think, especially for a boy. Start hyping up the big boy underpants- make them seem really glamorous. Then maybe he'll want to wear them, but tell him he can't pee or poop in them. If he does, wash him off with cold water, because now he has big boy poopies and peepees. He won't like the cold water washing, so he'll try to keep his pants dry. Remind him every 10-20 minutes to use the potty. It's hard, I know- a real pain in the ***. After working with my son for a year I finally have him trained during the day, he just needs a pull up at night.

Get him a sip cup. and about the potty no matter how hard you try if he is not ready he is not ready. but try a treat buy something he likes sweets and tell him if he sits on the potty for x amount of time he will get a treat. be realistic tho if he is scared of the potty. you must get him happy about the sitting part first or he will never go. when he is more happy about just sitting get a different treat and and tell him if you do a wee wee you can have a treat. do not let him have this treat at any other time just for the potty. keep the treat out of his site and out of his reach. Oh and summer time is a good time to start as well. It is not so cold

Don't switch to bottles, he's old enough to go directly to sippy cups. (And possibly non-glass cups so long as they're not very full)

He should be potty trained by age 4, but that only means that it's time to get started, my oldest was 3 before we made any progress on training. (We started at 2 1/2)

umm well put some like some stuff that would taste horrible on your nipples, so he wont suck on them and will take a bottle. then for the potty training, i dont know much about that, but u need to get him like some pull up training pants and have him tell you when he has to go so you can show him how to do it.

Takes 3 days to break a habit. I would suggest bottle feedings be left to your baby's daddy.

I trained my son out of diapers in the summer - perfect opportunity to let them run around naked in the backyard!

I think that at the age of 3, it would be a good idea to keep trying to get him out of nappies. What have you tried so far with your child? Have you tried giving him juice? If so, different flavours in case he didn't like the first one. Don't give up, you need to keep trying!!

Get him a sippy cup, don't breastfeed him at all. Cheerios in the potty game, aim for the cheerios and get a special treat, gummie or a toy, something rewarding.
