Hey everyone - up until three years ago I was only 125 pds...I'm now in my late twenties and I have slowly and continously gained weight...and I would like to know how to lose the weight...how many calories should I intake a day and what are the best exercises to slim me down and also help tone my body.

Calorie intake should be anywhere between 1200-2000. Try to stay on the low end.

Good exercises to slim down is running and/or aerobics. Loose the weight first before you start on any type of toning and muscle exercises. The only reason why I tell people this is because they want to loose weight, but muscle weight is more dense than fat. So it would seem like you have gained more weight rather in actuality you have just replaced with muscle. That's another thing too you don't want to "bulk up" so make sure you loose those unwanted pounds before weight training.

When you start muscle definition the best way and most effective is just free weights. If your not motivated enough to work on your own do pallaties class or yoga or weight aerobics.

Bikram Yoga. It is tough but it works and you won't need to worry about dieting.

I have lost 35 pounds since November doing it 5 days per week without changing my diet and I am in as good or better shape than when I was doing Northern Shaolin Kung Fu 3 hours per day. I am 57.

Weight Watchers. Seriously. My coworker lost 60 pounds (her husband lost 90!) three years ago and has never gained it back. Incredibly well balanced, healthy diet. It teaches you how to eat for life.

For slimming and toning, I'm a huge fan of yoga. You'd be surprised how many calories you burn, plus it lengthens all of your muscles, making you look leaner and toned. I also swim and walk a lot for cardio. Works great.

i was the size for a wild(im 14) and the docter said that 4500 to 6000 is a good area to keep your calire level at, i am the same hight as you and was the same waight and in just a matter of about 3-4 weeks i has lost about 7 pounds and i could feel the differnts.

i hope calorie counting works for you like it did me!!
