Tae-Bo is excellent. It is a great cardio workout, this will burn alot of fat, calories and help you to lose weight. Pilates will strengthen and tone your body, especially your abs. During my step class I throw in a little tae bo and I also teach Pilates for the core. You're on the right track!

To be honest with you they both work great, but in a different way. Actually my regimen consists mostly of a combination of TaeBo (aka Kickboxing) with Pilates exercises. TaeBo works great to burn fat and build muscle, it is a great cardiovascular exercise that also improves your strenghth and stamina over time. At first is REALLY hard to keep up with a full-hour class, but after a few weeks you will feel in tune and your body won't hurt as much. By that point you can start adding some strenght-weight training to get just definition in your muscles (not build-up). Pilates will help because it "lenghtens" your muscles, corrects your spine position (making you look taller) and you get used to contract your "core" or abdominals like ballet dancers do so it provides great results, and adding that in the whole workout you are contracting your abs and so reducing them, and think combining Pilates and TaeBo works just wonderful! Just remember to keep a healthy diet, lots of water and plenty rest!. With this method I lost 30 pounds 5 years ago and have maintained my weight in a healthy 125 pounds since then (I am 5'3")

Yes. Tae Bo is very fast paced & totally different than Pilates. Check out www.collagevideo.com. They have tons of workouts & you can preview them.

Definitely!! Pilates especially helps your abs/stomach muscles, and Tae-Bo is good for your arms mostly...atleast that's what I think. You really have to stick with it though.
