A month give or take a few days is the usual rule of thumb. you want to give your body enough time to actually have the period before freaking out. Periods are not natually right on time, and stress or bad nutrition can stall a period even if you're not pregnate. Wait until you're late by at least two weeks before going to a clinic and taking a test. Clinics are great, and normally you can find a clinic that tests for free.
Good luck and just relax- you might be pregnate or you might just be a lttle slow this month, stressing about it will only make matters worse. Bide your time and go about your business till it's time to go test. In the meantime DON"T HAVE ANYMORE SEX protected or otherwise. Stop your birth control if you take it (it might hurt your baby if you are pregnate) but realise once you stop you won't be safe until after a month of being back on the hormones.
Good Luck

Your period can be anywhere from a day to a month late...you can be late because you have a hormonal imbalance, it doesn't mean that you are pregnant jsut because you're late.
If you go and buy a First Response pregnancy test...you don't even have to wait until you are even one day late...they can tell you if you're pregnant up to ONE WEEK BEFORE you are supposed to start. Half the time, girls don't even know the exact date they are supposed to start. If you're sure you're late...go buy the test...because the more you worry about it ...the later you'll be even if you aren't pregnant...so instead of going nuts for the next two weeks...spend the ten bucks and buy the test.

Everyone's cycle is different. If you aren't that regular to begin with, there's not much to worry about until you're two weeks late. However, if you're lucky enough to run like clockwork, one week would cause concern.
Do yourself a favor and buy a home pregnancy test. They're not expensive, and it will probably put your mind at ease. Just remember that if it doesn't test positive now, it may in another two weeks. Sometimes very early pregnancies don't show up. Retest if you don't get your period in a few weeks.
If it still says you're not pregnant, see your doctor. There may be other problems.

I would worry if I was a couple days late cuz I'm always on time. Otherwise give it a week or so.

Try to wait 2 weeks after it was suppost to start! If you're stressed out then it might be a while for your period to start so taking an extra week to be sure.

It depends on if your periods are regular or not....if they ARE, they after about a week I would start to worry and take a pregnancy test.

depends on if your "normal" or not when it comes to your cycle. after having my cycle for 13 years, it's still irregular...and like once a year i skip a period. so for me, if you think it's too late for you, then take a test.
