If I wanted to raise my IQ by always doing those puzzles given on IQ tests, (refer to this question):

After the age of 5-6 years old, your IQ does not go up any more. Even if you work at it, you might do better on IQ tests, but that does not make a difference in your actual IQ when evaluated by a method you haven't practiced.

Its not likely that you will ever raise your IQ much, but assuming you put a lot of effort into developing your reasoning skills, you would start to raise it immediately and probably noticably (to yourself) within a month.
