Many times when a person asks a question, and some one will answer back "who cares...." or "Do you really think anyone cares?"
BUt if they didn't care they wouldn't obviously waste thier time to write that wouldn't they don't care right?

Depending on the question being asked of course, the majority of people who "Who cares" are people who are self invovled, they only want to focus on themselves rather than the world around them. So if they think the question has no purpose or relation to what they want in thier selfish little world, they just blow it off.

That's why even though I like using my brain to answer questions on this website, I don't see it lasting long. First of all there's not really much (as of yet) that you can do with the points, but people think they're cool for having them anyway, secondly I get fed up when I ask a question (after answering hundred) and get the responses you pointed out. It's rude, annoying, and doesn't help anyone... I just hope Yahoo steps in to cancel these people when they see stuff like that.

When a person asks a question here they are asking for other people's opinions. The asker needs to be prepared for any and all opinions. When someone answers "Who cares" that basically means that the person who's answering doesn't care.

the person who answers the q, with i dont care is a classic example of a person whom has un resolved issues whith someone in their past and to answer idont care means im hurting and i need help

They do it to get the two points. They don't know the answer, but they want the two points so they can level up.
Once I saw someone comment with just "don't know... don't care... i just want the points to get to level [#]!!"
