Salt, and ALWAYS salt.

If the average person ate 200g of sugar they might feel a bit ill and lethargic - do the same with salt & you'd be in hospital with acute salt poisoning.

Salt can and will upset the electrolite balance in your blood, causing massive dehydration, nerve failure & even brain damage in extreme cases.

If in just a 'normal' diet, excess salt is a bigger problem. Your body can metabolise excess sugar - either converting it to glucose or storing it a fats, salt CANNOT be stored or used - it MUST be expelled through the urine. Can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease etc.

Too much salt will probably do you more damage than too much sugar in the short term (can dehydrate you and cause all sorts of problems. You can die from salt poisoning). But too much sugar can cause diabetes in the long term. Both should be taken in moderation!

Too much salt I would think. Salt takes up water. Your body will dry out. You die.
But just eating a bit too much salt or sugar in ordinairy meals depends on your weak sides. Mostly too much salt I would say. Weak kidneys? Too much salt is bad. High blood pressure? Salt is bad. Too fat? Too much sugar is bad.
But too much salt does not taste good, so people have more problems eating too much sugar .

I think too much salt is worse, both should be taken in small amounts.

Minimise the salt; too much could kill you. Too much sugar is not good for you either, but I suspect it would take longer to kill you. "Everything in moderation", is usually a fairly safe line to take.

Definitely salt, no doubt about it. You should aim to consume no more than 6g of salt per day, take a look at the packaging of what you eat.
