My thesis must relate the Doctrinal dimension to a specific issue within any specific religious tradition.

My cousin did a thesis in psychology. She studied psychological effects on kids/people with a peanut allergy. She conducted a study on a bunch of subjects and PROVED her thesis based on the results of her study. Are you looking to do the something like that?

I've always been fascinated with how different people view death in terms of their religion. If you are a Christian, you go to Heaven (assuming you've earned your way through Christ). If you are a Buddhist, you attain enlightenment at the end of the journey, which may take a few lifetimes... could you conjure up something about how different religions prepare people for death... funeral practices... where the soul goes if there is one?

Another idea is war and religion. Is it possible for religion to righteously condone war and murder to defend itself?

The Muslim religion is under a lot of controversy right now. You could ruffle lots of feathers with any topic on that!!!!

It's been a long time since I went to school... so no laughing at my grade-school ideas!!! " )

I take it you have to analyze a doctrinal point of some religion.

Isn't there a doctrine that you are curious about, that bugs you, that confuses you, or that you love?

Here are a few ideas:

--the virgin birth.
--the Pope's infallability.
--Holy Communion: transubstantiation or not?
--the burkah in Islam (women covering their heads and faces).
--the "sacred cow" in Hinduism.
--salvation by belief alone in Christianity.
--alcohol: permitted or not?
--dancing: permitted or not?
--the "72 virgins".
--divorce.

Probably the easiest one to do would be some type of comparative study on how humans reach heaven.

You should write about the ethical considerations of certain Christian sects who deny medical care for their children, choosing instead to pray, consult their religious leader, etc.
