When I first signed up on y/a I was intrigued by the questions and answers. I rarely go beyond the Spiritual/Religion section. Now it seems there are more BS questions than there are serious questions. Don't "those" askers have anything better to do? Suggestion...GROW UP.

O.k. one of the reasons people ask stupid questions is to have fun. However there are very smart people that ask these questions too. I'll explain.
Do you ever look to see who gets the best answer on a stupid question? You should. It's one of the easiest cheat methods on this site.
Person A. asks a question: -5 points
Person B. "best" answers the question +12 points
Person B. asks a question: -5 points
Person A. "best" answers the question +12 points
Total person A. 7 points 100% best answer rate 1/1.
Total person B. 7 points 100% best answer rate 1/1.
And how much time and effort did they put into it? None 3 minutes at most.

"GROW UP" is exactly the thing to say, because most of the people are rather young, and they tend to be the ones asking the pointless waste of time questions. They are also the ones that just give a short dumb answer so they can get 2 points. There are some serious questions though. I just go though the most recent in all categories and if I see something that looks worthwhile, I click on it.

It's not up to you what the important questions are. Perhaps those people really would like an answer? It's ok to be curious. Actually, it should be encouraged. I suggest you steer clear of any questions you deem "dumb" and "unrelated" and then we can all be happy Y! Answers users.

I agree with you 100%. Yesterday someone asked what is the number for 911. Honestly if you need help with something then ask away, but if you are asking just to have your name up there, please don't waist others time.
