You may be interested to know that there is an internet site called cruisecritic.com, which has a bulletin board that allows for people to post a 'roll call' for cruises they are about to take.
This 'roll call' allows people to discuss things like shore excursions (many people decide to share private tours) and get to know each other before the cruise begins. The boards are separated 'by sailing', so there is a specific message board for each sailing on most of the major cruise lines.

You better check on that cruise. The Crown Princess just had an accident.
