My husband and I are enophiles and I haven't tried a wine I didn't at least appreciate :) I like both red and white, but do tend to prefer white, especially when it's hot out. My absolute all-time favorite is Naia, not sure what grape it is but I'm guessing sauvignon blanc. When I don't care what I get, I usually go for a mid-priced chardonnay, and for that I LOVE Fat Bastard.

I prefer red. Yes Australia is producuing some very nice Shiraz. I recommend you try Spanish wines especially the Ribera del Duero wines.

I love gerwurtztraminer, it's a sweeter white wine. Ice wine is great but you can only have a couple of sips at a time.

A nice spicy Red Zinfandel with food.
A crisp Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio for sipping on a warm day.

Hmmmmm - lol id lean towards sparkling honestly, cheap and good taste. I'd go with a champagne over wine, something like tosti aste
