I have known this girl for about 8 years. We dated back in high school and have stayed in contact with her since. We still go on a date every few months. The problem is that she has a tendenacy to stand me up when we make plans. I finally got her to tell me the truth (I think it was the truth) of why she does this. Her answer was that " she knows that if we do date, that it would not be a fluke and she knows that it would get serious. She is not sure whether she wants it to get that way". Is this girl full of sh*t or what? What do i do?

It sounds like she is still searching for something. It doesn't seem that there is anything wrong with you. She really seems to like you because she knows that if she does keep dating you, it will get serious. she just wants to keep things light right now. And that may be better because then there aren't seriously hurt feelings. Give it time. Date some new girls. Have a good time to keep your mind off of it until she makes a decision. Patience is a B*tch, but it usually pays off in the long run.

Do you want the relationship to be serious, committed and exclusive? A date every few months sounds like just friends, or maybe it's friends with benefits. You need to know what you want from her first. Step back and let her contact you next time. It will give you time to see if you really miss her and analyze your feelings. Let her make the next move. It will be interesting to see what happens.

You should try standing her up next time and see how she feels about it. If she really is afraid of things getting serious, then why does she yo-yo you around in the first place? Sounds like even if it's the truth in her mind, she's a bit flaky. If she decides she wants to take it to the next level, make her come to you.

I don't know what she's full of except bad manners. Whether it be for friends or something more, it's rude to stand someone up for plans. Do you really want to be involved with anyone who can't even meet you for a nonchalant drink? Or even call you to let you know she needs to reschedule? That's horribly rude in my book and I'd tell any friend or any prospective lover that I won't tolerate it.

You're her dependable,good friend-in other words,she feels she can blow you off now and then. She feels safe because she knows that you'll forgive her. The rest is B.S.
I think you should look for a real girlfriend,and just stay friends
with this one-no more dates where she may or may not show up as the mood strikes her.

YES this girl is full of sh!t. She doesn't want to hurt your feelings so she feeds you this bull sh!t. I dont think she likes you in the way of dating.

i think that she does feel something for you but shes not too sure about gettin in a serious relationship. maybe she likes bein with you but shes scared of the fact that she might get too attached. my advice to you is sit and talk to her about waht she really wants
