This is a very hard thing to teach them not to do.
The clothes are just out there flapping in the breeze and they are so inviting to your dog.
To best stop it a schock collar would work as you can correct the dog from inside the house and he will not even know you are doing it. You can correct him the instant he goes for the clothes.
You would have to watch him all the time to know when to correct him.
Or maybe fence off the clothes line so he can not get to it.

Well, firstly I would try to get him some toys and such that he can play with instead of chewing your clothes and shoes. However, chances are he is still going to do it, and there's not much you can do. Yuo can try putting up a fence along the clothes line, but that's rather pricy. you can try moving the clothes line to another area. maybe you can get a dryer instead so he won't, but there's not a whole lot you can do.

good luck. :)

Keep the dog fenced off from the wash - it's just too tempting to grab those clothes waving in the breeze! You’ll be forever yelling at him and rewashing the clothes.

Is there a way you can fence off the area around the clothes line? Or make it higher? That's all I can think of.

He's bored and is playing. Give him other tug toys to play with.
Make sure you give him lots of attention the rest of the time & make sure he knows how unhappy he makes you when he pulls the clothes off the line.

God bless him
how cute, but I'm sure that this is a problem for you.
I know this works for cats, but I'm not sure about dogs. Anytime we want the cat to stay away from something, we spray it with vigager. we put half (WHITE)vinegar and half water in a spray bottle.
It will not stain or hurt the smell for you. actually vinegar expells cigareete smoke too.
It might be worth a try.

by him more bones and toys ignore him when he pulls the clothes off and make the toys you buy more desirable than shoes and clothes

put the clothes line in a fenced area where you know he can't get it. Don't lock him up though.
