does that mean that god is displeased with people who don't have kids?

so what I'm wondering is, if god wants us to reproduce, how is it supposed to be pleasing to him when people take a vow of celebacy? isn't that going against what he said?

The existing form of the creation myth (which post-dates the Babylonian captivity) clearly states that other people were created before Adam and Eve (1:26-27) - presumably elsewhere than the Garden, which didn't exist yet. These people were commanded to be fruitful and multiply (1:28) - and, most curiously, to "replenish" the Earth - as though there had been others before who disappeared. It's almost like someone did a cut & paste from the Flood story, which also post-dates Babylon. Adam & Eve were never commanded to 'be fruitful & multiply.' But presumably the people could stop multiplying when the Earth was sufficiently replenished - which point I think we've passed.

no he is not displeased with ppl who don't have kids because he is the one who makes a person (he/she) a parent. it is in His will who will have kids and who won't. God only told Adam and Eve to multiply because to fill earth with ppl.

ultimately, that's going to depend on the reason for not having kids. if you've got a legitimate reason to not have kids (from simply "I don't want to have kids" to "I'm biologically unable to have kids" -- and everything in between), God is not displeased for your infertility.

God only gets displeased about it when there is bad faith involved, or when the reason for it is hubris towards God.

no. he said that because it was necessary to keep the human race alive. God even implanted fear of man in animals else they would've destroyed man along time ago. it's not necessary because the earth is full so that's anyones choice to have kids or not now.
