i have gotten a packaged deal with sony. the sony 2 channel 1200 watt amp sucks. it shuts off all the fn time and if u barely crank it up it will shut off the subs. so i just want to get a nu amp. i also have 4 speakers. should i get a 4 channel amp and would that cover the subs 2 or what should i do

you should leave best buy products behind and check out brands like boston, kenwood excelon, mb quart, and pioneer premier. if i were you i would get a 4 channle for my 4 "other" speakers, and a 2 channel for you crappy subs. thats the cheapest way out.

Hmmm... I have that amp and I don't have that problem at all.

Probably due to the way your subs are configured if you're running all four subs.

If your subs are 4 ohm each, you can only use two of them in parallel per channel for a total of 2 ohm per channel. It equals out to be about 250 watts RMS X 2.

With the amp bridged, it's 4 ohm stable which is about 500 watts RMS X 1.

Go with a JL Audio two channel amp to power the two subs. Dont worry about the sound the speakers put out!

that's your fault for getting Sony lol. Should of gone with a 2-12's Rockford speakers... I can turn my system to 9 or 10 and feel the bass.... You get what you paid for. Even you "thought" it was a good deal to get the Sony. lol

check the amp that's a good amp my friend has it in his 2003 jeep. 2 12" 250rms 2x4ohm that's good
