I am a very spiritual open-minded person. I believe some right and some wrong in every Religion and that we are to take what applies to us and leave the rest. I have been earnestly praying for God to give me insight on what I am to do. I started writing a book about my (2) spiritual experiences years ago and have since thrown it all aside thinking that maybe I wasn't suppose to write this book. However, after much prayer myself along with good christian friends praying. It came to me in the night last night that I was to go about different churches and give my testimony... something seemed missing.... I awoke this morning and it came to me that if I could get up in front of people and share these profound experiences, that I needed to write it in a book instead in order to reach more people to help them (maybe even along with doing the testimonies). I do feel a certainty about this. But would like to have other's insights. I was told; "it is time."

I do trust what I get from the Lord, but still have somewhat of a problem of distinguishing which is of the Lord and which is my own mind. I truly feel it is time and feel to do both. I would just like to hear others opinions (PLEASE SERIOUS ONES ONLY!).

I have been waiting a long time for a clear answer on this and it seem to come through the sermon this past Sunday and went from there...leading up to my answer. I've had "blocks" on writing and it came that if I could stand and speak before people, that I could also sit down and write this book NOW. Also, many words came as never before to me and how I should write them as if I am standing in public/or church making my testimony. What do you think.
Please earestly pray about this before answering. Thank you. You may email me at: uniqueoneisme@yahoo.com

If you feel the Lord is saying it is time then it is time. Get to work for Him and He will bless you. If something is missing He will show you what it is. I know my pastor told me I had a testimony that would reach many people I just have to wait for the Lord to open the door. He will lead you the rest of the way. God bless

Your situation is not unique. Many have sought for some kind of higher purpose in life. The problem with religion shopping is you discover that every organized bunch of humans has a few bad apples in the bag.
At some point you need to realize that you don't need another group of people to identify yourself, you can be your own person and be true to who you are. If there is a/one/several God(esse)(s) out there, then (s)he(they) will accept you how you are.
Just be the best person you know how to be.

It sounds to me as though you need to do some more studying of the various religions. There is one right religion provided by the only true God who doesn't want you to be confused about Him.
As to the book and speaking, why does one occlude the other. If you write your book, you'll have to promote it, to promote it you'll be speaking to religious people. Why should you wait till your book is finished before you speak about your beliefs? Speaking means organizing your thoughts on the subject. This will be incentive to prepare, which will also prepare you to write on the subject. When you speak, you have to be prepared to engage others on the topic, (two way communication) which means they will help you come to real conclusions about your beliefs.

Go for it. There is always a market in religion for anything that is new and insightful. I am not even a Christian but I believe it is important to follow your dreams, and remember that the end result is not what is important. What is important is your search for spiritual truth however one may concieve of it. Good Luck.

Certainty is certainty. It is a very personal thing and does not depend upon the opinions or insights of others.
There is a point of personal integrity involved here.
What is true for you , is true, and it is true only according to your personal observation and experience of it.
Here are some key points to apply to your situation that might help you.
Never disparage yourself or minimize your strength or power.
Never need praise, approval or sympathy.
Never compromise with your own reality.
Don't desire to be liked or admired.
Be true to your own goals.

If you set aside the book, with no honest intention of ever touching it again, then i say go for it. go for it anyway, people can always use more guidance. Lord knows i need it.

Maybe you could just listen to yourself and write it instead of waiting for a magical ghost to tell you what you should do.

Oh, please! First of all, your notion that you are entitled to "help" people with their spirituality is incredibly arrogant. Second, go to a psychologist and get some meds, soon!
