I've always thought this was a mistranslation of the original Pastafarian gospels and especially in the early Epistles of the Ingrate Giovanni.

The confusion arises out of Tuscan variations on the words "morire" (to die) & "morsicare" (to nibble). In the chapter on converting the Riesling to something palatable at the wedding of Canalini, Jesus is misquoted as answering he'd rather "morire de risata," (die of laughter) when in fact it was "morsicore di risootto" (snack on rice).

I died SPECIFICALLY for the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

And for Super Mario... because he's died for me a WHOLE BUNCH of times.

When I was just a little Jesus, I couldn't really master the running jumps so well... and poor little Mario died tons.
