It isn't Christianity per se that people are against. But the approach Christians take on sharing their beliefs. They do have a directive which basically was Jesus telling the apostles (more or less) to go forth and spread themselves all over the world and tell everyone about what they experienced during their time with Jesus.
I'm sure the early Christians did that, but eventually when powerful people converted to Christianity, they stopped merely sharing the message, and started imposing their beliefs on the world through the different monarchs and so forth and so on.
And now we find out that the Bible was chosen selectively meaning that there were thousands of manuscripts bearing witness to Jesus life, but only a select few made it to what we know as today's Holy Bible. I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the message.
People are not against Christianity anymore than they are against Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. But you don't see any of the other religions trying as aggresively as Christians to convert others, and that's precisely what people are put off about.
Do what Jesus truly intended (at least as far as the Bible says) Share your message, share what Christianity has meant in your life, but don't tell people that they're going to go to hell if they don't conform with your ideas, because ultimately, you don't know that anymore than anyone else does, unless you have died and come back from the dead, something that despite a few claims out there, nobody has ever done, or at least there is no concrete evidence of what happens to life after death, or if there is such thing as life after death.

People are different. Wow! I know! What a revelation! Not everyone has the same background/upbringing/life experiences. And these things sum up the choices we make in who we are and what we believe in.
There are Muslims that are against Christianity. There are Athiests that are against Christianity. But there are as many Christians that are against something else, and more people that don't give a sh** either way.
I don't know where you can make such a grandiose assumption that so many people are against Christianity. I'm curious. Do you expect that non-Christians are such a minority in America that we would have no voice?

Many Christians are hypocrites because they tell and preach about following God and certain values, yet do not follow those rules themselves. God tells you to love your neighbor, be peaceful, etc. Obviously, many Christians do not follow that.
Also, throughout history Christianity has been forcefully spread among many millions of people who were unwilling to change their faith. Christians say its because they want everybody to go to heaven, yet they have murdered, enslaved and taken advantage of resources of millions of people. Not a very Christian thing to do.
Many people hold grudges against the Christians in America because they believe this country should be ruled by Christian values and morals, aka conservative values. In a country where free speech and freedom of religion is one of our primary pillars, it is hypocritical and straight out wrong for our country to be guided by faith.
Christians care about the best interest of the Christians. That also bothers some people. Obviously not all Christians are like this. I consider myself a Christian, but a very open-minded and modern one. Most of the Christians I know are decent people, but I also live in a very liberal area. The hateful, greedy, spiteful, angry ones live everywhere, but generally the bible belt and our white house.

I've been a christian all my life, and i have had a lot of people against my religion act mean towards me, it's christian persicution and thats the devils way of getting to us. It will get worse, a lot worse, towards the time that he is coming, i'm 13 and i am 99.9 % sure that he is coming in my generation we are living in the last days, and that's just how it is going to be, and sadly there is nothing we can do about it, but, god will spread his glory among all of us, millions of people will get saved, and sadly some wont, but dont worry we will soon be in heaven with god, and live there forever.

people are not against christianity, but more against religions taught in churches or mosques.
I think science and technology is challenging the various religions existing on earth. Of course there are cases when sciene and tech give up as well, but the explanation behind is not through Jesus.
I guess most of us believe in something mysterious up there but the way we call it differs. we are all different thats why our beliefs vary - and thats what make the world more interesting and unique (not sure about the unique though;)

Because Christianity claims that they are the only way and everything they do is right and justified without any evidence. Furthermore they are consistently wrong on subjects that effect everyone in society and trend towards hatred and exclusivity.
They fill peoples heads with irrational thoughts and prevent them from thinking critically or even exercising true freedom.
It's an evil cult.

If you are a Christian, you must read the bible? Jesus taught how believers (in Him) would be persecuted.
I think the thing that infuriates people the most is, no one likes to be told what to believe. God, in His word, has decreed that we are each sinners, and that only faith in Jesus Christ can wash away our sins, and no one will enter the kingdom of heaven unless they be born again.
This enrages people....they want to come to God their own way.
I don't think it wrong to tell others what God has said...but I think as Christians, we must always speak His word in love and humility. Unfortunately, sometimes people hate Christianity because of the way some "Christians" present it.

It's only the people who try to insist that their faith is the only valid one and refuse to allow me to live my life without having their faith forced on me even after I tell them I'm not interested.
From personal conversations to political movements, the intrusive nature of some religious people is what I find most offensive. They forget that while they have the right to their beliefs they do NOT have the right to have those beliefs made law OR constantly badger people who do not ask for their intervention into their lives.
If someone wants to follow a faith, good for them. But when they INSIST that their way is the only way, then they are preaching arrogance and just being inconsiderate of the rights of others.
I will happily live and work around anyone, but when they try to make their faith mine, then I have a problem with them.

I don't feel I'm against Christianity, I just get a little bummed when Christians get against me. Nobody likes to be attacked and nobody likes to be misunderstood.

Some Christians are extreme and tend to shove their religion in people's faces. Telling them they'll go to Hell unless they accept Jesus and things like that. Obviously people don't like that. Unfortunately, they then associate this behavior with all Christians.
