He was certainly viewed as a dissident by both Jewish and Roman rulers. I suppose if The Roman Imperial state had the same access to the media as the West has today, it would have been relatively easy for him to be labelled as a terrorist. The big stumbling block, however, is that Jesus believed in passive resistance and never perpetrated or condoned an act of violence.

He was considered a threat to the corrupt priests in the Temple and to the Romans who worshipped Caesar.
Jesus became angry with the cheating moneychangers in the Temple. Other than that, Jesus espoused violent revolution in men's hearts. He was not swayed by the terrorists of his day, the Zealots.
As to Americans, it is shocking how much power has been given to George Bush. Thousands of people have been killed because of his views.
He has attempted to circumvent the tripartite balanced system that was created to protect us and has become an imperialist. On the other hand Mr. Bush does not have the intelligence and charismatic personality that is required for one man to corrupt the entire nation.

Jesus IS alive. The Bible is true. His method is a free will. Not all people would let Jesus to have influence over so many people.
God is God not matter what is our opinion about Him.
When everything and everyone is finally under God's rule, the Son will step down, taking His place with everyone else, showing that God's rule is absolutely comprehensive- a perfect ending.

If the Bible is true, and Jesus existed, he was a PASSIVIST. They don't commit terrorist acts. The Christian Crusaders, and other violent Christians throughout history were not following Jesus at the time they committed their crimes because he was a passivist. According to what I read in the Bible, even his own disciples screwed up on this one, them being involved in suspicious deaths and all. Read it to know what I'm talking about. I'm not a Christian and I don't quote scripture.
PS Christians believe Jesus is alive and living somewhere today. WHERE?! Supposedly he should be working on this right now. HHmmm

An interesting question! Well done
No, I don't think he would. In fact, with mass media available to him, assuming he had the personality and charisma to win people over, he might get on well. On the other hand, many folks might write him off as just another Bible thumping evangelist.
I suppose the ability to make people laugh at themselves would be the winning ticket.
On the other hand, I hate to admit this, but I rather think that if Muhammad (peace be upon him) were alive today, he would be very high on Bush's hit list.

A terrorist is someone who uses terror to get there point across. If Jesus did that then, yes, he would be a terrorist. But he wouldn't!
As for the american power thing: If Bush can do it...

Jesus was called a "killer" and "treason" so if he were alive today he would be put in the same category as those that rise against government.
Jesus will bring an end to war between nations, so he would have stood in the heat of national hostilities to show an example of love to those that believed in destructive solutions.
Jesus would resist temptation of the destructive manna, he wouldn't kill people physically to install the kingdom of heaven; he would only spiritually kill the people who thought physically killing people was the purpose of democracy - hence the "killer" & "treason".
Gandi, if my memory serves me correctly claim independance and brought a whole nation together but with God creating individuality and diversity seperated them, but it turned hostile and when Gandi stood within the 2 parties they no longer saw a figurehead but each others hate.
Afghanistan trained their hearts to call to arms for political solutions and defeated the Soviet Union and then had a civil war.

Jesus would be seen as a radical just as he was then. The terrorists would be the men who set up the church and pulled the bible together in the form we know today. They were the ones who used violence and threats as a means to convert, just as others do today.

Jesus was a revolutionary then as he would be now, but his methods were always peaceful. The authorities in his day saw that he could undermine them and take away their power and they did away with him.
If Jesus appeared nowadays, he might be called a terrorist by the people that feared he might take away their power, their hold over the people. All sorts of slander would be cast against him but hopefully his message would be understood nowadays as it was then.
Oh, wait. Nobody understood him then... Hmmm.

Heck, if killing innocent people classifies someone as a terrorist by America's standpoint, then we are all funding terrorism in the US, Israel, and across the world.
I mean when US soldiers kill 3 households of people (men, women, and children) in Iraq, we don't call them terrorists, in fact half the people in this country think they shouldn't even be called criminals. When Israel bombs airports and bridges in Lebanon, killing hundreds of random Lebanese citizens and crippling Lebanese infrastructure because 2 soldiers (not even civilians) were kidnapped, we don't call that terrorism.
Terrorism is defined by where you are and what propoganda you pay attention to.
