Use styptic powder found at your local petstore.
Follow the directions on container.
It will coagulate the blood and stop the bleeding immediately.

Your cat doesn't need to go to the vet for a small wound such as this.
Styptic powder is used by groomers, kennels, vets, etc.

You may need to apply some pressure with an soft cloth with a little peroxide, and possibly wrap it with gauze, after about 30minutes to an hour, check to see if bleeding has stopped, if not you need to reach a vet or try calling one for advice. I wish you and the cat the best!

Apply pressure to the wound - if it slows down try wrapping it with a bandage - but get it to the vet soon

call a vet. Even though they may seem too far away, some will make house calls. The cat needs to see one ASAP

Apply ice to the area and hold it on there for about a minute. Then wrap a cloth tightly {not TOO tight} Around the wound.

Try to comfort the cat. Pet him and talk to him softly and sweetly. Don't pick him up. Give him food and water.

I have found it to be very helpful to apply Neosporin Cream to any open sore on my
cat. This product is effective on all animals
as well as humans don't over use, just a
light coating. My vet said that it was okay
to use.
