this is kind of more for the people out there that practice witchcraft and spells, and magic, and stuff like that. Don't you guys basically prove that there is some type of spiritual force out there that exists, a good and a bad. you guys are usually against christianity and stuff and its ideas, but if you interact with spiritual forces (because something has to be causing the spell to work), then you basically prove that there is existance of something outside of us. how then, could you tell christians (or anyone) that there is no god, and no angels, or whatever. Note: there is a chance that you guys don't actually say that. if this is true, please disregard my question. i honestly don't know much about what you believe or think.

Paganism is a religion. Therefore we believe in higher powers -- ask 5 pagans, get 10 answer to exactly WHAT we believe -- but the majority of us are pantheists (like me) or polytheists. We don't deny the existence of Jesus Christ or Yahweh (the god of Christianity and Judaism) or Allah, we just choose to focus on other deities most of the time -- although there are "christopagans" who believe in Jesus as one of many gods they choose to worship.

Many pagans are young and bitter, so they will bad mouth Christianity, but the more experienced and mature pagans see it as simply another religion. Another path. We want to be respected and we know that we need to respect others if we expect the same.

First off, I am a Christian and I do believe that witchcraft is evil. What a lot of people don't realize is that witchcraft is not a spiritual force. That might throw some people off, but it is true. Witchcraft, magic, hypnosis, even music are all inhibitors. They unlock the MIND'S ability to do powerful things. These inhibitors shut down the left side of the brain bypassing one's ability to reason out mental decisions. What the emeny (Satan) then does is influences the witches natural God given ability to dominate the Earth realm. Jesus was the best example of dominating the Earth. He walked on water, etc., only to prove of God's power. The devil has no SPIRITUAL power. The only power he has is to twist the things that God has already created.

This is my belief: I think we all pray or worship the same deity ... perhaps we call it God or Allah or Buddha or Shiva or Great Earth Mother Goddess ... in the end, it's all the same thing. Kind of a "you say tomato" thing. Is there a force out there beyond us? I think so, and I think it gets upset that organized religion gets in the way of true belief.

And ... for the record, not all Wicans believe that Christianity is wrong. I happed to be raised Catholic and accepted a religion based upon a variety of beliefs. I don't discount or discredit Christianity because I've begun to believe in more then that ... I don't see why casting spells and saying the Hail Mary can't go hand in hand ... belief is just that ...

Witchcraft and spells work due to the creative visualization powers of our own humans minds, not an outside force. It's the same principle the power of positive thinking and focus used by athletes work on.

Personally I dont have anything against christians or pagans, or any other faith. I ride paradigms like others ride waves, so I dont really have a particular faith I subscribe to whole-heartedly.
There tends to be animosity toward christians just because of histrory, and sometimes there can be a general arrogance and closemindedness that pisses people off.
I think there is much to be learned from walking various paths. It should be each individuals right to walk down whatever path he/she desires, as long as it brings harm to no other.

You should check out beliefnet.com... it has answers to questions on all religions. You can read a lot about this there. There are many types of "witches" there are even "Christian Witches".

I believe that "nature magic" exists, but that it is basically holistic remedies... not really "magic" at all.

God is real whether you believe in Him or not. Jesus is the Truth. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. God also says in His Word seek Him and you will find Him when you are sincere and search with all your heart. Read your bible. :-) God Bless.
