I met a guy at a bar (just turned 29 and I am 26) and he came over to talk to me and ended up talking to me the entire night. Initially my thoughts were indifferent and I really did not expect anything to really progress or if he even liked me. I guess I am not real optimistic about meeting a guy in a bar, but I went with it b/c he just seemed really sincere and nice not to mention cute!! He ended up being a perfect gentleman. We had great conversation. He politely asked me if he could kiss me. The kiss was great too. The whole night was great and we really hit it off. We kissed but it went no further nor did he try. By the end of the night he politely asked me if he could have my number. He also invited me to one of his buddies birthday parties 3 weeks from now. I think I should definitely NOT go if I do Not here from him. How long will it take for him to call? Or will he? I am not used to this. Need Advice!!

He asked me for his number and dialed it into his phone so I know he won't lose it. I have his also only because of the fact that he dialed my phone right away to see if I gave him the right number :)

I suspect that he will call. I would give it about 2 to 3 days. Long enough to not sound needy or desperate and soon enough to let you know that he is interested. At least that is how I would handle it. He sounds nice. I wish you luck.

That depends exactly how gentlemanly he's being. I think modern ettiquette would be to call some time in the next week, to show interest, probably leaving it a day or two (otherwise there's a risk of showing desperation rather than interest). Rather more old fashioned ettiquette would be to call a few days before the birthday party, to confirm that it's still convenient for you and to arrange any details. I agree that either way to be polite he ought to call you sometime between now and the party. Having met you in a bar, he might be erring on the side of taking things slowly so as to not risk looking like a player.
I take it you don't have his number? If you do, it would be perfectly acceptable for you to call him, either in the next week to show interest, or a few days before the party to confirm.
Also, you should bear in mind that the process of copying down someone's number is not foolproof: if he doesn't call, it's not impossible that he copied it wrong, or managed to lose it. While that might indicate carelessness (or inebriation), it doesn't necessarily indicate lack of interest. If you don't hear from him, but want to see how things are with him, I assume you at least have directions to his buddy's place (where the party will be)? If so, you do have a way to get in touch with him, and could use that either just before or just after the party, even if you decide not to go to it without hearing from him again.

I usually call a girl 2 to 3 days after I got the number. Most likely 2 if I really like her.

He may or may not call. Usually a guy will call 2-3 days later but sometimes he'll be too nervous and won't call at all. He might be shy, but he just had some liquid courage (alcohol) to help him not be shy with you that evening.

Go to the party regardless. He could have lost your phone number, lost his phone, had an unexpected accident, etc... Another thing, he could think that you're just not that into him and be shy to call you. there's a million reasons out there why someone may not call but if you're confident with yourself you'll know whether they want to call you or not.

Well, he should wait long enough for the chick to sober up, but beyond that, it's really individual preference. He will call, just be patient. Guys have to keep up appearances for their buddies, not to mention their egos. When he does call, I'd get his number... just remember not to be too pushy.

Read a eBook called "Double Your Dating". Cheesy, I know, but if you want and honest look inside of a guy's mind when it comes to the "dating game", it's very insightful.
Anywhere for 3 to 7 days. Enough for you to start wanting the call (that where he wants you to be), but not long enough for you to forget him and get interested in someone else.

If he's really digging you, the next day. Otherwise 2 - 3days. After he's done bragging to his boyz about meeting a hot babe. Just kidding. But then again, if he is bragging about you, reffering to you as hot, that's an added plus for you. Right?
