I personally dont wear ties. If you are speaking of tithes I think they should be used to help the impoverished as opposed to supporting the lifestyle of televangelist. They ride around in limos, live in huge houses and wear designer clothes. Why cant they live meekly and use the money for what it is meant for?

How bout paying the bills of the humble church and keeping it running so solid Christians can worship there. Not all churches are huge expensive megachurches.... Like ours...ours is very modest, and we just added on with funds that we supplied ourselves beyond the tithes. A tithe is giving back to God, and the church uses it to handle the needs of the physical church...it's hard to have electricity or running water or heat/air when no one pays the tithe. ;)

first off.. its TITHE... not tie.. you wear ties and tie shoes.. you pay TITHES.............

Offerings are used for whatever the church decides on which is why business meetings are usually open to everyone

Tithes are a "thank you" it is a return of 10% or more to God of what we earned b/c He blessed us.... symbolically that goes to God... but is still used in the same way as offerings.. whatever the church decides on...

Every church has it's ministries that they use offering money for... the building fund... is usually seperate anyway

I think you mean tithes. Personally I am not for big expensive buildings (I am not passing judgment on those people that like them). I enjoy donating money to organizations that spread the gospel, feed the hungry and respond to disasters.

Tithes, which means tenth, are to be used for the business of God's house... Offerings are used for the other things.

I have always found tithes more effective than ties. Sure, ties look nice, especially when made of a nice silk with pretty colors, but they really don't accomplish alot.

Tithes and offerings can be used for whatever God sees fit. You just have to trust your pastor enough to know that he is taking instruction from God.

they should be used for the ministry of the Lord. The church should let His voice guide them in where the money goes.
