Ok, so God created Adan, then Eve... they had two childs, one killed the other, so Cain leaves and then he comes married and all, from where did all these people come? Did God created more people, did Cain married Eve and had kids? I think that is kind of confusing. Dont you?

No matter what here you're looking at incest on a massive scale. Now I was under the impression that was frowned upon by God? If not I still think that this is just more proof that it's just a story and for some reason a lot of naive people have to try to make a real thing.

I mean otherwise you have to ignore the fact that you can't have that much incest without about 80% being mentally handicapped, very badly, and that it's impossible to live to be 800 years old. Plus there are human fossils long before Adam and Eve "existed". On top of that the whole story goes against the knowledge that neither matter nor energy can be created or destroyed, ever, it would throught the whole universe off balance.

So let's all just ignore those facts and the likelyhood it was just a story to teach a lesson and act like it really happened.

But as long as we're believing that who says there weren't really dragons and wizards and Zeus and a billion other equally or even less crazy things that were real just because it was recorded in some book.

Right after Cain killed Abel, Eve got pregnant and gave birth to Seth. But the first answerer is correct, these were not the only 3 children Adam and Eve had. Adam lived to be about 900 years old and he and Eve had many other sons and daughters which were not recorded by name in the Bible.

Most likely Cain and Seth married some of their relatives. They might have been sisters or one of them might have married a sister while the other married a niece. The bible does not say which.

I agree this could be confusing. It was one of the first things I sought an answer for.
Basically, the bible doesn't tell us the time lines for Cain leaving and getting a wife. We are told Adam and Eve had at least one more son (Seth). Girl children were not recorded. They lived a very long time (hundreds of years), so it can be assumed they had many (maybe even hundreds) of kids (poor Eve).
So Cain would have married his sister of possibly a niece (from his brothers kids).

I finally realized it was not too important for me to know the exact answer. The question I had to really answer is "Why do I believe what I believe?"

A very accepted view is that Adam and Eve were only a parable. They are meant to be metaphors for humanity in general, along with Cain and Abel...
"Many modern Christian and Jewish scholars consider Adam and Eve as an example of religious myth focusing on the teaching of perceived fundamental truths. In their interpretation, the story's purpose is to convey the importance and truth of sin and human rebellion in their traditions, regardless of historical accuracy. All, some, or none of the actual events of the narrative may have actually happened, or been embellished."

"In critical scholarship, the prevailing theory is that the story is composed of a number of layers, with the original layer deriving from the Sumerian tale of the wooing of Inanna....The tale [is] seen as representing the ancient conflict between nomadic herders and settled agrarian farmers"

So it is confusing because it was not meant to be an account of what happened, rather a teaching to show conflict within humanity, or i should say that's how it is generally accepted to be.

In Genesis 5:4, the Bible says that "[Adam] had sons and daughters." So Cain married his sister. Although today this is seen as bad, back then the gene mutations that cause problems in children of genetically similar parents had not yet happened. Therefore it was safe, and necessary, for Cain to marry his sister.

Adam and Eve didn't have just two kids.

After Cain killed Abel, Adam and Eve had another son, named Seth.

After Seth, the Bible tells us, Adam and Eve had more children. The exact number of children, and how many of them were sons and how many were daughters, is not known.

four explanations i've heard come to mind:

1. it's a METAPHOR!

2. adam and eve had a lot more kids than the three mentioned - those three were singled out b/c they were the first three born and b/c of the murder of abel, b/c seth was who abraham, etc. was decended from.... etc.

3. there were other homo sapiens around with whom cain and seth could have kids. adam was "made" into a thinking creature from a creature of raw physicality. he was not "created" from nothing (look up the hebrew) but "made" from dirt. making something has the connotation of development occuring which is not inconsistent with evolution.

4. they had sex with their mom and this was thought obvious or edited out b/c of the later injunction against incest. (remember, at this point they'd not received any commandments from god yet except not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.)

They had many children, after the death of Abel, Seth was born..
We find numerous blessings from this line. Besides, Adam and Eve were the first, I am convinced God created more people after the fall.
