We pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America during the pledge of allegiance. We pledge our allegiance to GOD in they way we live our lives, day in and day out.

There is no "God of the United States". There are literally thousands of gods that different citizens of the US worship. When citizens say the pledge of allegiance they pledge themselves to respect and honor the United States.
By the way..."under god" was placed in the pledge of allegiance in the 20th century. It was not origional wording.

NEITHER
Christians owe allegiance only to the Creator God, and will not swear allegiance to any other.
There is no God of the United States, although GW Bush is certainly and irrefutably a god of the United States.
Allegiance to a flag is tantamount to idolatry.

We pledge allegiance to "The Republic" for which it stands. We don't pledge allegiance to any of the "symbols" of the Republic, such as the flag. We pledge allegiance to a Republic or group of like minded people that are willing to stand together for the idealogy of democracy.

As Americans, we are loyal to our country and the symbol that stands for it. Doesn't mean it's our only loyalty.
