He was sent to save us from our own sins as well as the sins of the world. Jesus was also sent here to teach us humility when things are going good and faith to carry through when things are going bad.

I believe that also. Since I have studied the bible, I do believe it to be the inspired word of God. And Jesus said that He came not to condemn the world....but that through Him the world may be saved.
"For unto us a child is born, unto us, a son is given".
Sent to us for many reasons; first to save...and also that we may have life, and that, more abundantly. As usual, God never says anything idly. I can attest to an abundant life because of Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to be our Savior, we couldn't save ourselves. Even on our best day we are still sinners( saved by grace if you believe). God's desire had been from the beginning of Creation to have a relationship with us, but the fall ended the closeness. He had to send His Son so we can live if we believe.
Jesus also came to show those who believe in Him how to live adn what it means to truly live.

Jesus is the Truth. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. God says in His Word to seek Him and you will find Him with a sincere heart. It's as simple as that, read your bible. :-) God Bless.

I believe God sent Jesus to us, that He will be a pattern to us to express God on the earth. Our natural life is so different from His humanity. it is not comparable. But it is possible for us to have His humanity on the earth. By contacting Him, calling His name (Lord Jesus), eating His word, enjoying Him, living and active. I believe He can transform us from our natural life to become match as His Humanity. That way, we carry out His humanity on the earth as our daily living. Because calling His name and eating Jesus, He live in us.
I’m not saying that we have to fake become God, but with calling His name and eating him, He will make a home in our heart, because He (Christ) live in us and we automatically express Him in our daily life.
One other pattern on the bible that match with God Humanity is Paul. So it is posible for us to have Jesusly Humanity to express God on the earth.
