IF Chuck Liddell get past his next oppenent he fights Wanderlei Silva...Can Chuck Liddell beat Silva???

This could be a fight for the ages assuming of course both fighters come outta their next fights uninjuried

I don't think Chuck can do that. Silva is in my opinion a lot more complete fighter and a strong favorite in this match if it were to take place. Physically he's stronger, his stand up is better (Silva was able to strike with Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Mark Hunt, the best two kickboxers in MMA world and give them both a war and so far the best striker Liddell fought was Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and he got crushed in that match. Silva on the other hand faced Rampage on two occasions and knocked him out both times) and his ground skills are far more advanced. Chuck's wrestling is probably his only advantage here but in this match I don't think that it will make any difference. In the end I think that Silva will knock him out within 2 rounds.

But I really think that this fight is most likely not going to happen, well at least in November that is. Everybody is talking about how Liddell has to take on Sobral first and how hard his schedule is going to be over the next couple of months. But what many people here don't realize is that Wanderlei is competing in PRIDE's open weight GP finals on September 10. There he could possibly have two fights in one night with his first opponent being none other then Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. And how many people you know fought Mirko and were able to get right back in the ring a month and a half aftervards. Not too many I would guess. Silva did get a draw in their first fight but he was taken to the hospital right after the match to be treated for broken ribs and liver injury and he was unable to compete for some time. And even if he gets past Mirko he still has to take on the winner of the Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Josh Barnett match about an hour after that. Now I know that Silva is a warrior, one of the toughest men alive, but to come unharmed out of all this and be ready for Liddell in November - I think that's a bit too much even for him.

Anyway, even though Liddell has a big fight coming up, his schedule is nothing compared to this and I think that people shouldn't get to carried away about this fight, at least for now.

Sobral will beat Liddell because he's at the moment a more suitable useful all-round MMA fighter. Their first strive against replaced into close till the notorious "kick interior the nostril" from Liddell. considering then Sobral has not lost a strive against.
