This is confusing. Are all countries different? One Greece website said their mairrage license is accepted internationally. But other countries' websites just say that the lisence doesn't matter on an international level... ?

I would talk to the city clerk at your local city hall or whatever. They will know for sure what is accepted in your state. If you marry in Vegas, you just give the marriage cert to your local city hall. International is more iffy and it may even vary on the country you get married in. You could also get married abroad, and then if you find out it isn't legal in the states, just get a quicky courthouse wedding. That way, you had your big wedding, and then a quick one to make it legal.

If you are a citizen of the US and get married somewhere else, there is a process to getting it recognized, but plenty of people do. If you are a citizen of Greece and you get married in Greece, then move or visit the US, of course your marriage is legal.

i don't think you have to persay get remarried, but you do on paper. you'd have to fill out certian paper work after you've been able to live in the US that says you were married in another country... im guessing.

It depends on what destination country you go to whether or not it is recognized in your own country.
