I'm just wondering because it's frustrating they show them both at the same time usually. Are they intended for different audiences or is it just for the competition?

Yeah, "Solo Boxeo" is in the Spanish Language Telefutura, so it is aiming for Latinos, and when you see the fights, it is mostly Latino Fighters, in the other hand Friday Night Fights is aimed at English Speakers and it mostly shows Black American fighters....although sometimes you will see Latinos and Blacks in both channels going at it....sometime you will see a white guy in both but rarely because you know what they say...."In Boxing-Never Bet on the White Guy."

Two different audiences are targeted - ESPN caters to the English-speaking fan with fighters who are fairly recognizable. Solo Boxeo appeals to the Hispanic fan, and features lesser known athletes. Where I live, ESPN comes on first, followed by Solo Boxeo.

I believe they have different audiences but I do not think they are in competition. Friday and Saturday have always been fight nights. I think the channels are just carrying on a tradition. Either way I think it benefits the viewers. Because we can pick and chose which channel we want to see depending on the fighters competing or just the weight classes that are fighting.

It is the same reason why you see a Burger King open right next to a Mcdonalds, you know you are hurting the other business and you are trying to see if you can drown them.
