My mum tried to explain this to me, but I wasn't satisfied with her answer. She said that God is like a parent to us - he knows the way he would like us to live, and gives us general guidelines for how to live, but ultimately, it's our decision. Fine. But then, why is half the world starving? I mean, think about it. There's enough food for us all. If you had two children and enough food for them both, but one tried to eat it all, you would never let them get away with it. Therefore, if God does take the role my mum says he does, he would surely lay down the law a little more firmly.

Yes Amby, but some of us have considerably more trials and tribulations than others. Hardly fair, is it?

I've always been on the "other side", Selnyk, so no worries there.

Nicholas J, that is (and I'm not being sarcastic here) a really clever way of putting it. But I can't believe that everyone who is suffering does not look for God. I do not believe in God, but I am not starving. I have a roof over my head. My life has never been destroyed by a natural disaster. If what you say is true, there are a few exceptions to the rule.

Ok I can explain it this way. In Gen. God told Adam, and Eve not to eat from the fruit of the tree Knowledge of Good, and Bad.
The Snake came up who was the Devil told them to eat it. He made a lie. Well you'll have to read it in Gen about that. But the reason why God is allowing all the wackiness to rule the earth is because when it is God's time he will say no more. When God makes the new world. People might try to go back like what it is like today now. God will tell them it's already tried it and it won't work that way. God is allowing the Devil to have his own time. His time is now. Very soon God will take over, and it is very close to the end.

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?

Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! " answered the barber. "What happens, is, people
do not come to me."

"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!

What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

It's all Karma, baby.
Without the bitter, we would not be in a position to appreciate the sweet. Half the world is starving, possibly, if we think along a zen stream of consciousness, that they incarnated there to learn, and to be the world's redemption. For everyone who gives their money if they have it, or just their prayers, which don't cost anything, then we are uniting, and bringing these desolate souls out of the starvation that they willingly incarnated into. Or, let's go a little further with this karma thing- if a person spent his life doing things that would damn his soul, and there be no hell, (which is what I believe) then his soul may have to unwillingly incarnate into surroundings that would atone his karmic debt... I do not wish for any of God,dess's sons or daughters to starve, and yes, there should be plenty for all. But we americans are living in a wasteful world, this society of fast food and instant gratification... I would rather believe that these people represent what the world should be doing. Being our brother's keeper.
God allows bad things to happen to us so that we may learn and become stronger in gaining wisdom and insight. And yes, God,dess is like a parent to us; freely gives, and freely takes away. Says no to us when what we want is not good for us. And lets us screw up so we can learn.
So readers, let's pray that those who have means to give money and food to these starving peoples do. Let's expect more out of our celebrities that are getting rich off the public. Let's hope they care, and give. Blessed Be, readers.

Yes, Jesus is real. Bad things happen because there is sin in this world; even if we have asked into our life we still have sin in our lives. We are all born with a sinful nature, this goes back to the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve didn't listen to Lord.
Sometimes bad things happen to show where we need to be dependant upon Him. Romans 8 is a good example of this.
Look at the book of Job( right before the Pslams) and you will see that God allowed Satan to mess with Job to show how faithful Job was. Job praised the Lord inspite of what he was going through.
Half of the world is starving because of peoples selfishness. Once again showing the sin in the world. The Lord does raise up missionaries to help out in the those countries.
He did lay down the law but we can choose not to listen. He isn't going to zap us into obedience, He may give you the desire to help those countries out in some way.
I hope this helps you out a little better

Well first you have god but on the other side, you have saitan,The devil is trying to pull for your sole. This is where the bad things come in.It is up to you to know god and his way and choose his way. Some of the bad things are actually not bad but however a way for god to show and teach you the right way.If you think really hard about it,I am sure you will think of something that has happened in your life that you felt was really bad and later discovered that it happened for the best. Some people want that new car or that job promotion and did not get it,They later learned that if they would have gotten it then they would not have a job to pay for it or they would have been promoted on that job just to find that the company was pomoting people and having terms in their contract to get rid of long term employees to be able to cut wages and hire new people at lower wages.these are all ways of god working miracles.Another one before I go is an old highschool girlfriend that you loved and went out with for several years and broke up,you were upset and thought the world would end without this person in your life, several years later you run into this person and you thank god for unanswered prayers.

good luck and god bless

Because we live in a world with evil. As long as we live in a world where there is nothing perfect, there will be bad things. God does not MAKE them happen. He would be pleased with His people who would help feed these people and care or them and some people do. Also, some of the ways these people live cause them to suffer more. Like the belief that having sex with young children will heal them and they end up spreading AIDS even more (in Africa) to their society. If societies would put God first, blessings would improve. But like I said, this is an imperfect world-so until Jesus returns to take away all of the evil, we pretty much have to deal with it.....AND PRAY AND DO WHAT YOU CAN to help others.

WE DONT NEED GOD TO STOP HALF THE WORLD STARVING!!!!!
We can stop it!!!!!
If we as a race just gave them money and built houses, shops, running water etc it would all be over!!!!
The half of the world that is rich has more than enough money to give to the half of the world that is starving and bring them to the same level of living we have and still have enough money left over to carry on living well. Man is responsible for half the world starving and could sort it out tomorrow. But then there is greed which is a tool of the devil who is ruling this planet and at the same time convincing the world that he doesnt exist. Please don't blame God for what man does!!!!! God is alive and well and revealing himself to people today, he works on us all individually through the power of his holy spirit and changes our character to be like his, so that we then decide to good with our lives and help to make the world a better place rather than living selfish lives which dont care about people starving on the other side of the world. We have to ask him in to our lives though, he cant force his way in. As individuals we cant save every person who is starving but if you visit www.compassionuk.org , you can help save one person and change their life for the better. Are you willing to do this or will satan convince you otherwise by planting excuses in your head. We all have a choice in life, follow satans way or follow Gods, read the new testament part of the bible, it tells you all about life on this planet, the physical world, the spiritual world, Gods way to live life and Satans. Happy Searching. Do something amazing, have compassion and change a life today!!!!Feel free to email me if you have any questions on the bible, am happy to help you get to know more> Happy Searching!!!GodBless T.R.U.T.H.

Unfortunately, your mum has an inaccurate perspective. But she is not entirely at fault as there are millions of spirits who have deceived people here for centuries.

God is not a being. God is an energy on the Other Side. It is the White Light that many Near Death Experiencers report seeing "at the end of the tunnel." That Light is nonliving, infinite, and governed by Universal Law that cannot be changed one iota. The more spiritually advanced the soul, the greater its ability to ascend into The Light after bodily death.

On the Other Side, people who are basically spiritual (angels) reside in the Mid Realms of Spirit. Like people on the Other Side of common spirituality (subangels), they like to combine their soul energies into a collective consciousness or Group Entity (GE).

A GE of millions can perform minor miracles (like individual healings, the creation of food, jewerly, etc.) through and around their chosen prophet. That is how all the world's major religions started. They were orchestrated by large groups of angels (at best), not by the God who initiated The Big Bang.

That is exactly what happened through and around the prophet Issa/Yuz Asaf/Jesus. He had a large angel collective that worked through him, as did Paul of Tarsus later on, to elevate the prophet to a god in the hearts and minds of people.

Issa's inability to come back from the dead in modern times only points to him never having done so in the first place.

Eventually the truth comes out, despite all attempts to hide it and/or distort it.

Regarding the issue of bad things happening...

Whenever someone incarnates into a three-dimensional body, there are going to be problems. Everything is in a constant state of change and to be in the flesh inherently means pain and suffering. There is no long-term peace here at all. The only long-term happiness and contentment can be found within a spiritual plane in The Light after death.

We should all do what we can with the time and energy we have to grow spiritually, serve others, and strive to live by The Golden Rule, in order to be able to ascend to a spiritual place in The Light after we transition.

Because God wants people to do good and love Him by their own choice. If he wanted people that were just "puppets" with him "pulling the strings" he would have created us as such. The world is starving because people don't follow what he does and live with their greedy nature ruling them. It comes down to the fact that those who do not follow what he says will be punished eventually. Take the example of a mass murderer. They get away with a few murders, but then they get caught, and they get punished. It just happens on a larger scale with God.

God wants you (and everyone) to make a choice. If choosing God meant no more pain, no suffering, to troubles, we would all "choose" God but there would really be no choice at all.

If God stopped you every time you did something that wasn't quite honest or kind or just, would you be choosing to follow God or just compelled to do so?

We can come up with theories and explanations based on what we know about God from the Bible, but ultimately only God cancer answer the "why" question, and He really hasn't chosen to do so. He leaves you to choose to either believe Him and trust that He really is loving, powerful, and wise, or to choose not to believe and rely on your own love, power, and wisdom to get you through life.
