My boyfriend is a total neat freak. I mean he will freak out if the dishes are not sparkling clean. On sundays he will spend half of the day cleaning his whole house from top to bottom. He once asked me to leave until he finished because he didn't want anyone to mess up the house. Don't get me started on the bathroom thats his sanctuary everything has to be spotless. Right after he uses the bathroom he cleans everything right back up and has it sparkling. He hates seeing water or toothpaste on the sink. I am not complaining at all because i love it!!!!! I just never dated a guy that was so neat. All my boyfriends were complete slobs or they expected women to clean up after them. I think its nice and refreshing to finally meet a guy thats just a neat as u. But the only thing is i dont go off the handle if something is out of place.

I know how you feel. It has its benefits.. but sometimes it can get really irritating... Yes I enjoy a clean house and I'm glad he feels the same, but he goes so far as to organize his closet by jeans, shorts, long sleeved shirts, short sleeved shirts, button up shirts, shirts with collars, and then once that is done, everything then is organized again by color. Shoes, hats, socks, and underwear are organized too. Also, when hanging the clothes up, the clothes AND hangers absolutely MUST be facing the same direction. If you ask me, that's taking it a bit far. As long as my clothes are hung up and maybe just separated by pants and shirts, then I'm good. no big deal. But he's a little too serious about this. He laid out a pair of clothes on the bed after he finished ironing them and I had just gotten out of the shower. I was brushing my hair out and was getting ready to dry it, so when I finished brushing, i walked by the bed and tossed the brush onto it so I could plug the hair dryer in. When I tossed the brush on the bed, it just so happened to land on his shorts at the bottom of the pant leg. He just about had a seizure. He flipped out and got all angry... I'm like, "Whoa.... it's just a hair brush... I promise it's not dirty and will not harm your precious clothes in any way" I don't understand what the big deal was, but boy, i will never touch his clothes again.

I think there's a certain line that has been crossed here. It's good he's neat & cleans up after himself, but to be obessed with everything having to be so clean it shines all the time is unhealthy. I think it's rude for him to have asked you to leave because he wanted his house to be clean. He chose his house over you! If I were you, I'd back away from this guy & go find a dude that cares about you more than his house.

Well cleanliness is great and rare in men but my dad is pretty anal like your guy and he can get a bit psycho withy the cleaning! So its a good thing to an extent, guess I'd rather have a neat freak than a complete slob like my husband!

Oh my god. How I envy you so!! My boyfriend is one of those complete slobs that you just described. And of course I'm the neat freak in our relationship (not that I clean after him..pff !) But anyways, I think thats simply adorable to have a guy clean every from top to bottom! Lucky!

I wish my boyfriend were HALF as neat as that lol. But I know how you feel, my roomate is like that and she freaks out if I take off my shoes and leave them next to the door. She won't even let me wear my hair down if I'm standing in the kitchen because hair will get on the counter!

Sounds like he has OCD, Obsessive compulsive Disorder and it only gets worse. It may be cute now and nice or whatever, but if you live with him it gets worse. You will come to hate it. Unless you have OCD too and then you can try to outclean each other, lol. Of course after awhile you won't have time for anything else and no friends either. Good Luck

Until you move in, then he'll expect you to do it all. I have lived with both Oscar & Felix. I'll take the slob anyday. That "neatness" read obsessive/compulsive has to spill over into other areas of his life. My experience was rigidity, narrowmindedness, and BORING!!!
